Is Captain Marvel more powerful than Scarlet Witch? | Igor11 Comics

Listen to the audio podcast of this article:

One of the most asked question after the release of Marvel Studio's Captain Marvel movie is that who is more powerful Captain Marvel or Scarlet Witch? The answer is ....... keep reading for the answer.

Today, we will look at some important points and informations to draw a conclusion and a winner.
The comparison will be based on comics only.

a picture of Scarlet Witch vs Captain Marvel by Igor11 Comics

Before we do that, subscribe to our newsletter or browser notification to get our latest update as we would definitely appreciate you stopping by every week for awesome new contents.

Now that you have done that, Let's start the comparison.

Strength, Abilities and Weakness

Carol Danvers (Captain Marvel)

The character possess absolute superhuman strength and durability. She can withstand mega force roughly equal or even more than 92 tons and strike with same level of force or even more. In Binary state, She can even absorb the energy of White hole allowing her to fully manipulate stellar energies.

an image of Captain Marvel aka Carol Danvers with a red, yellow, blue background.

If we talk about the abilities of Captain Marvel, there are plenty of abilities which makes the character so strong. Carol is immune to all types of toxins and poison. She has a limited precognitive seventh sense. Carol has ability to fly with very high speed literally light speed travel. She can survive in space.

Basically, Captain Marvel is an energy cannon who is highly durable with extreme raw damage output.

The only weakness of Captain Marvel is mystic energy and magic which is where Scarlet Witch has strong hold.

Wanda Maximoff (Scarlet Witch)

Scarlet Witch has no power or strength limit. No one can tell you the exact level of power of Scarlet Witch or even her abilities. Why? Because she was created that way. The creators gave her the "Hex Power" which literally doesn't have any limit. Originally Scarlet Witch is a mutant but in movies she drives her power from one of the Infinity Stone which makes her a much weaker version compared to that of the Comics version.

an image of Scarlet Witch aka Wanda Maximoff using her chaos magic.

She has ability to manipulate chaos magic which has power to do anything at her will. She can resurrect dead. She can warp reality which means she can change the reality as she did in House of M Comics series. Scarlet Witch can resist the Phoenix Force, in fact she has defeated Jean Grey (Phoenix).

Even the Phoenix Five from Avengers vs X-men were afraid of Scarlet Witch.

So, what's her weakness? I know you might be having these questions.

Her chaos magic can literally do anything, whether its about changing the law of physics and science or any energy. The only weakness of Scarlet Witch is Scarlet Witch herself.

Who Wins?

Captain Marvel might be the strongest in terms of sheer strength and stellar energy manipulation but when you come out of that there is dark and magical world where the strength and stellar energy of Captain Marvel doesn't help her. Scarlet Witch is no doubt one of the most deadliest character we ever had in Marvel Comics.

An exclusive poster of Captain Marvel versus Scarlet Witch by Igor11 Comics.

Since, Scarlet Witch has crushed the Phoenix Force which is just another level, we can't compare Captain Marvel against her. Captain Marvel isn't just capable enough to defeat or even survive Scarlet Witch.

Captain Marvel can not manipulate mystic energy while Scarlet Witch has limitless access to Chaos magic.

an image containing scarlet witch with chaos magic and captain marvel in binary form.

In a case where they pit against each other, Scarlet Witch will overcome the energy absorption of Carol or even use the power of Captain Marvel against her. Otherwise, Scarlet Witch can simply alter reality and make Carol normal human being with no power. Yes, she can do that.

Now, if anyone ask you who is more powerful Captain Marvel or Scarlet Witch? You know the answer.

 Conclusion

I like both characters, they both are very different. It is not fair to compare a character with limited abilities and power with someone with limitless power. Captain Marvel is about awesome combat fights which include flight, punches, kicks, blasts, explosions, etc. but Scarlet Witch is out of her league, Scarlet doesn't need any of those abilities to overpower her.

So, I just cleared your thoughts by putting some points. You still have question? Dissatisfied with the comparison? Want to put up your own point? Want more comparison?

Don't hesitate to comment down below, I'll try to respond as soon as possible.

Who is Batman?

We all know the masked guardian of the Gotham City who hunt the bad guys in the dark but who is he? Batman's real name is Bruce Wayne. Unlike every normal child, the childhood of Bruce was very rough.

His father Dr. Thomas Wayne and mother Martha Wayne were murdered in front of him and from that day onward he sworn vengeance against all the criminals.

Bruce Wayne is the masked identity of Batman who is super rich, a playboy, and philanthropist. He is the owner of the Wayne Enterprises, a multinational company.

Childhood image of Bruce Wayne sitting along side the dead body of his parents.

Bruce doesn't have any special superpowers like Superman but he has will, techs and money. He trained himself physically and mentally to be stronger than a normal being. His is one of the finest detective and investigator. His combat technique a lot more enhanced.

When all of his mental and physical training combine with his wealth, then the combination is deadly. Batman is known for awesome techs and weaponry which becomes a reality because of his wealth.

He has some associates too like his butler Alfred, Commissioner Jim Gordon, a masked vigilante named Robin.

Let's move ahead to find out the answer and the way to defeat Malekith.

We see Thor still lying on the surface of fire of the Sun. Thor already lost one of his eye but the fire demands more than his eyes. Thor plead not destroy his Mjolnir as it was the hammer which makes him Thor. In front of his eye, the Mjolnir melts in the fire of the Sun.

We see three girls, the oldest is reading aloud a book and conveying its story to other two. The girl tells that once upon a time, their grandfather Thor sent his allies to bring the Future Thor to help him in the War of the Realms.

The Thing and Mister Fantastic comes to take help from All-Father Thor.

Suddenly, The Fantastic Four team member Thing and Mr. Fantastic arrive at the location. Thing asks the girls about Thor, but the future Thor or The All-Father Thor was all ready to help Thor because he already knew and was waiting to help present Thor to stop the War.

Scene 3

Location: Ruins, Asgard

We see Thor wearing an eye-patch on his left eye. He reveals that the answer he got from the World Tree was that the only way to defeat Malekith is Thor. So, he summoned all the possible Thor to help him fight Malekith. Then it is revealed that All-Father Thor wasn't the only one summoned but the unworthy young Thor was also summoned.

The Thunder sounds across the Realms like never before, the lightning was as bright as exploding stars.

This time it wasn't Thor, it was Thors.

Scene 4

Location: New York

The situation at New York was very pathetic since the city was all frozen by the Frost Giants. Frank Castle (Punisher) tells the Air Support team to tackle the Frost Giants moving toward the Park. Ironman mentions Punisher and tell him that it wasn't a simple job to kill 40 feet tall Giants. Punisher replies that they consume more bullets but they can be killed. Then he ask them to keep moving block by block until they take back the whole city from the Giants.

Then we see Spiderman leading his Giant Spider Army of Hel. One of the Frost Giant starts bragging about the Frost Giants but before he could complete his long speech, Captain Marvel beheads him with the Sword of Sindr (Queen of Muspelheim).

Captain Marvel possessing the Sword of Sindr was a sign that she was already done with Queen Sindr. Then we see some more superheroes including Captain America, Black Panther, Daredevil, Okoye, Lady Sif and Thing standing in front of King of the Frost Giants, Laufey.

Captain Marvel kills Sindr the queen of Muspelheim and takes her sword.

Captain America commands Laufey to surrender. Black Panther reveals that the Fire Queen Sindr and Queen of Angels were dead, Amora and Ulik were chained and so was their army.
They give a final warning to Laufey but it was too late..

Laufey reveals that it was never his intention to fight for Malekith instead he wanted his own dominance on Midgard and turn Midgard into Frozen Land.

Then he takes out the Casket of Ancient Winters which can produce Infinite low temperature. It is considered to be one of the most dangerous weapon/relic of Asgard.

But how did the evil King of Frost Giant had such a deadly weapon of Asgard? Did he steal it from Asgard?

Nope, All thanks to Loki. When Loki left Asgard, he stole the Casket from Asgard.

Lady Sif warns him not to open the Casket as it would kill them all instantly. Laufey knew that already so he doesn't open it, instead he eats the Casket himself.

Laufey was overpowered and he starts blowing his blizzard breath which was cold enough to freeze any mortal. But there was one man strong enough to withstand his breath, Daredevil.

Laufey the King of Frost Giants, eats the Casket of Ancient Winters to breathe out chilling wind in War of the Realms Issue #6.

He moves against the Cold Breath of Laufey and spin his Sword by aiming at him but due to the chilled atmosphere he was unable to hit him. The Sword finally ends up in the mouth of Laufey which means Daredevil lost the Hofund (Sword of Heimdall). Laufey swallow the Sword all the way down his throat and starts blowing his cold and chilling breath all over that it was conditionally impossible to stop him. What happens now? Now that Daredevil lost Hofund, others are Frozen. Who will stop Laufey?

I think my hands are freezing, Oh my God! Somebody help me.. Comment down below if your hands aren't freezing. LoL.

Scene 5

Location: Stonehenge

The story continues just after the scene from the previous episode. The sky rumbles with thunder which lets everyone know that he was coming. Malekith got excited since he didn't expect what was about to happen. He planned to kill Thor in a trap but Thor had the answer and the way to defeat Malekith in his own trap.

Malekith held Odin and Freyja as captive at Stonehenge to bait Thor to his Trap in War of the Realms Issue #6.

Lady Freyja warns Malekith but deep inside she was worried about her son.
I had the same question as Lady Freyja that in a situation like this we can pray to Gods but if the Gods themselves like Freyja and Odin falls in a situation like this, then what do they do?
Odin answers our question that we were supposed to pray to Thor himself as he was the only one who could end the War of the Realms.

Ohh..Okay!! I got it.

The Team of Thors finally arrived the Stonehenge. Thor shout aloud, "Malekith, I have come for my Parents".

Jane Foster adds, "And for your head, You Ba$t*rd".

Thor, All-Father Thor, Unworthy Thor and the Mighty Thor come together at Stonehenge to save Odin and Freyja and to kill Malekith in War of the Realms Issue #6.

The Imbecile Malekith says that only Thor would be able to cross the boundary of Stonehenge because of his spell but he didn't realise that all of them were THOR.

All-Father Thor says that they all were Thor.

Malekith wasn't alone as well, he had his Dark Spider Elves (Symbiotic Dark Elves), War Dogs who feeds on fear, and Malekith himself along with Venom Symbiote, his Sword, and his magic.

The team of Thors in War of the Realms Issue #6 attacks Malekith and his dark army.

Malekith orders to kill Odin and Freyja only since he wanted to kill the Thunderers himself.

The action begins and the team of Thor set their respective goals. Jane proceed to save Odin and Freyja, All-Father Thor go for the Spider Elves, Unworthy Thor go for the War Dogs, and Thor go for Malekith.

"This is it, this is the final battle we all wanted for so long." - Igor

First of all, We see Unworthy Thor slaying all the war dogs recklessly and All-father Thor taking down those spider elves.

Unworthy Thor butchered the War Dogs, Jane saved Odin and Freyja, All-Father Thor fights the Spider Elves in War of the Realms Issue #6.

Odin and Freyja were chained in one of the Stonehenge stone but Jane comes to save them. Freyja asks Jane that why did she come even after knowing that she could die. Odin adds that if she dies again, he won't be able to save her again like before because of his illness. Jane was mentally prepared and she doesn't convince with the sentences of Odin and Freyja.

Finally, we see the epic fight between Thor and Malekith. Thor tells Malekith that he had enough of the madness and suffering, now it was the turn of Thunder God to return those to Malekith. He also adds that he will give him a quick kill and end the war soon.

Somehow, Malekith lopped off the Hammer from the hand of Thor. Thor falls on the ground. Malekith uses his symbiotic and dark magic to turn the hammer into the Black Hammer of Accursed.

Thor fights Malekith but lost his last hammer which becomes the Black Hammer in War of the Realms Issue #6.

The Black Hammer was basically a black symbiotic hammer with sharp thorns.

That Hammer was the last hammer of Asgard that Thor had. Now he has nothing left.

Malekith says that he always wanted to check the amount of damage that the Hammer of Odinson could do. Then he hurls the Hammer with all his might and advances to attack the injured Thor lying on the ground but Jane comes in between and try to save Thor. Malekith noticed that the Hammer possessed by Jane was very weak and it would barely last after a hurl.

Jane Foster saves Thor while Malekith was about to hit him with Black Hammer in War of the Realms Issue #6.

That's why Malekith attacks Jane by his symbiotic tongue and says that her hammer wouldn't last after a strong blow. Thor comes back and start punching the Black hammer with his bare hands.

Malekith calls him mad man and hit him hard enough to throw him far away.

Odin knew that Thor was punching the Black Hammer for a reason because he knew the result. He says that if Thor succeed in doing so, the war will end.

Malekith capture Thor through his symbiotic limbs and continues to strike Thor rigorously. Malekith says Thor was all about fists and weather. And says that he would make Thor die screaming.

Thor says that he doesn't require his fists or thunder but a good hard rain. The body of the Thunder God starts sparkling and lightning and the rain of Fire starts to fall off from the sky.

Malekith holds Thor in his symbiotic limbs while Thor summons a Fire Rain in War of the Realms Issue #6.

Before everything, there was only darkness but then from the north came the Ice and Fire from the south and this is how life was created. So, this means the fire rain had a purpose to fulfill and something was about to be born.

Malekith was so blind in his arrogance that he couldn't realise this, he says that the Fire rain was nothing new for him and bluffs on Thor.

Thor says while staring the sky that he didn't wield the tempest just to make the fire rain. Malekith looks up in the sky as well and guess what, he was completely stunned. Why?

Mjolnir returns to Midgard in War of the Realms Issue #6.

The mighty, the one and only Mjolnir was resurrected by the fire of the Sun and it drops exactly in front of Thor.

Everyone was happy including Odin as he knew that the weapon to defeat Malekith had arrived.

Mjolnir was on fire all over, it was more powerful than ever.

Mjolnir lands on Midgard in front of Thor in War of the Realms Issue #6.

Malekith bluntly demotivates Thor that wasn't worthy to pick up the Mjolnir but Thor says that he knew it was main struggle but now that he knows that it wasn't the hammer which makes Thor, it was Thor who makes the hammer. He also adds that now he know that who he truly was.

Thor is worthy and picks up Mjolnir again in War of the Realms Issue #6.

He was and forever would be THE GOD OF UNWORTHY, and he picks up the Mjolnir.

"This scene is totally epic." - Igor

Thor strikes the hardest blow and knock down Malekith and the symbiotes inside his body left the body because of fire from the Mjolnir.

Thor uses Mjolnir to knock down Malekith in War of the Realms Issue #6.

It was just a matter of a single hit to knock down Malekith as it was destined to be done like this.
Jane congratulates Thor and exclaims that she knew that her hammer was only a hurl away from being wrecked so she knew where to hurl it at last.

Scene 6

Location: Back to Laufey, New York

After Daredevil threw his Sword Hofund at Laufey and he swallow it. Lady Sif got mad at him because he threw the mighty sword of her brother Heimdall.

Daredevil throws the Sword Hofund at Laufey in War of the Realms Issue #6.

The situtation was quite impossible for the mortals to handle and hence they needed some external help for sure.

Laufey kept on blowing his chilling breath but suddenly he loses one eye after getting hit by a Mighty Hammer of Jane Foster.

Jane Foster hits Laufey with her hammer and Laufey loses one of his eye in War of the Realms Issue #6.

"Okay! Now I get it, the place which Jane decided to hurl her hammer was New York against Laufey. Wise Decision, Lady Jane." - Igor

Laufey got dazzled since he couldn't believe that in a matter of a second he lost one of his eye.
He got even more when he saw his stomach being cut from the inside with a sword.

Few seconds later, Loki comes out along with Casket of Ancient Winters and Hofund.

Loki cuts the stomach of Laufey and comes out with Hofund and Casket in War of the Realms Issue #6.

Laufey, the King of Frost Giants was also a history now and now it is the turn of Malekith to die.

Scene 7

Location: Back to Stonehenge

Since Thor knocked down Malekith and his Venom Symbiote already left his body after being hit by the fire of Mjolnir. Unworthy Thor takes advantage of the situation and cuts off one of the arm of Malekith.

Malekith realizes that he lost the War, Malekith is attacked by his own War Dogs.

Malekith says that he doesn't need any Blade, Hammer, Symbiote to kill Thor and others. He adds that he would choke them with one hand.

Thor ask Malekith to accept that war had ended but Malekith was in a denial. Malekith says that War would never end and command his War Dogs to kill Thor but the War Dogs who feed on fear noticed fear in Malekith himself and tear him apart into pieces.

Malekith is attacked by the War Dogs and his flying Tiger in War of the Realms Issue #6.

This is how Malekith died and the War of the Realms ended.

Everyone were astonished and happy at the same time that the War finally came to an end. Everyone started greeting each other.

Every superhero celebrates their victory in War of the Realms Issue #6.

On the other side, Jane's hammer breaks into pieces and she lost her powers.

Loki left the place quietly but before that he said "The king of Frost Giants is dead, LONG LIVE THE KING" by looking at the dead body of Laufey.

Jane loses her Mighty Thor power after her hammer wrecks in the War of the Realms Issue #6.

The Realms is at peace again.

All the Nine Realms are at peace once again after the War of the Realms.

Lastly we see an emotional scene and conversation between a father and son.

Odin congratulates Thor and tells him he was no longer in a position of being called the All-Father. Thor doesn't understand it so he asks Odin that what he wanted to convey.
Odin says that will call Thor by the title he deserved, "ALL-FATHER THOR"

Odin bows and calls Thor as All-Father Thor in War of the Realms Issue #6.

And the series ends here.

THE END.

How was your experience? Did you like this series? Personally, if you ask me I would say that the ending was epic. Specially this episode was great because I didn't expect Thors from different timelines. Plus the last scene in which Odin calls Thor as All-Father Thor was great.
